Fine garden ornament manufacturer Haddonstone has launched a new Crescent Sundial, created to complement the Brass Dial and Armillary Sphere designs currently available in the company's collection.
The Crescent holds the Gnomon, which casts a shadow on to the hour band, the latter calibrated with Roman numerals for telling the time.
The hour band is engraved with the Latin inscription HORA QUASI UMBRA, which translates as 'Time is but a shadow'.
The design is mounted on a dial base, engraved with a compass rose and the eight points.
Constructed from high specification mirror polished stainless steel, Haddonstone says that the sundial is ideally suited positioned on top of its Baluster Sundial Plinth.
