The network was designed as an extension to a city centre system in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, which PSGL had previously supplied to monitor a number of city centre areas and which was expanded last year for the country's 50th anniversary celebrations last year. As well as the 40,000 capacity Ohene Djan stadium in Accra, the tournament was also hosted by the similarly sized Baba Yari stadium in Kumasi, along with two smaller venues in the cities of Tamale and Sekondi-Takoradi. All four venues were supplied with a combination of static and Pan Tilt & Zoom (PTZ) cameras from Bosch, JVC and Pelco. The stadia in Accra and Kumasi had around 70 cameras each, while the smaller venues had up to 20. Although each venue had its own local control room, the heart of the system was in a network control centre situated in Accra where video was relayed via wireless networking.
