French wine museum Hameau Dubœuf is to get a new immersive experience courtesy of Dutch attraction design and build specialist Jora Vision.

The experience, called Mon Beaujolais, will tell the 2000-year history of winemaking in the Beaujolais region through a character called Toine, a fictional winegrower who has appeared in Hameau Dubœuf's attractions previously.

The story will be told via video mapping and back projection, with Eindhoven-based Mansveld Projecten and Services collaborating with Jora Vision on the audiovisual and show control elements of the experience.

Visitors will be sat on benches in Toine’s house, which will be fully themed with surround sound and lighting. The video mapping will project onto walls and props, while further projection screens will be integrated into the fictional house's scenic decor.

"This project is another example of our key strategy of creating customised immersive experiences for theme parks, museums, zoos, family entertainment centres and tourist attractions," said Jan Maarten de Raad, Jora Vision CEO.

"Over the last couple of years, we have been focussing on design-build projects that tell an interesting cultural story. We are excited to see more and more clients showing interest in our services and we are confident Mon Beaujolais will be a spectacular example of our work."

Mon Beaujolais is set to open in Q2 of this year and will be based in one of the pavilions at Hameau Dubœuf.

Located in the famous Beaujolais wine region in Romanèche-Thorins, France, Hameau Dubœuf is the largest attraction of its kind in Europe and was founded in 1993 by Georges Dubœuf, one of France’s best-known wine merchants.
