Health & Fitness Nordic Company CEO Olav Thorstad is eager to grow the company's various brands
Fitness supplier Precor has landed a major contract to deliver all cardiovascular and strength machine equipment for Health & Fitness Nordic Company (HFN), Scandinavia’s largest health club operator.

HFN, whose CEO Olav Thorstad was presented with the EU Club Leadership Award 2014 at the recent IHRSA European Congress in Amsterdam, has more than 200 clubs ranging from high-end to low cost, with in excess of 500,000 members. The company, was born of a merger between the SATS and Fresh Fitness chains with Elixia a process that was finalised in June 2014.

As the company continues to grow, Precor will be the exclusive supplier of CV and selectorised and plate-loaded strength equipment for both SATS and Elixia clubs, having previously impressed through its lengthy contract with SATS.

Mattias Lintzen, Head of Purchasing at HFN explains: “We have a number of criteria for our supplier selection and Precor was particularly competitive in three of these – total cost, warranty terms and delivery lead times – which is very important to us as it helps to minimise downtime on the equipment.

“The product has the quality and functionality that we want to offer our members, so we’re very pleased to have entered into this agreement, which will see Precor supply equipment for everything from our new clubs and major refurbishments to small replacement items.”
