Leisure operators Everyone Active and GLL each picked up three gongs at the ukactive Awards last night, held as part of the Active Uprising event at Manchester Central.

More than 800 guest attended the awards ceremony, which saw Brio Leisure win the hotly contested Organisation of the Year Award.

Everyone Active won the Insight of the Year and the Digital Transformation of the Year awards, while also picking up the Kids Award based on its work at the Lammas Leisure Centre near Mansfield.

Its three wins were matched by leisure trust GLL, which secured two Regional Club of the Year awards – for London and Wales & Northern Ireland – and the Unsung Hero Award, given to staff member Haider Ali for his work at Wembley Leisure Centre.

In all, winners were celebrated across 23 diverse categories – marking the largest ever ukactive Awards.

ukactive acting CEO Huw Edwards said: “We expanded the ukactive Awards to celebrate every aspect of our growing sector.

"Last night was a fantastic opportunity to take stock, celebrate, and look forward to the year ahead.

“Congratulations not just to all of the fantastic award winners, but to every finalist and entrant, all of whom are fantastic examples of the extraordinary work we do as a sector to get more people, more active, more often.”
