The shortlist for the Hall of Wellness Awards (HOW Awards) has been announced, with 110 awards up for grabs, split into six categories – Middle East, Asia, Europe and UK, Oceania, Americas and Africa – plus an additional seven global prizes.

Following the turbulence of 2020, Kathryn Moore, founder of Spa Connectors, launched the awards to “give something back to the industry” and recognise those excelling in their fields in the global spa, beauty and wellness industry.

Below is the final shortlist for the Global Category:

Global Consultant of the Year: Paula Perkins, Dr Priya Khorana and Ana Crawford
Global Director/Manager of the Year: Helena Grzesk, Sven Huckenbeck and Carolyn Collins
Global Hair Personality of the Year: Jamilla Paul and Tara Rose Kidd
Global Personality/Contributor to the Industry: Lucy Brialey, Andrew Jacka, Laszlo Puczko and Marisa Dimitriadis
Global PMU & Microblading Specialist: Patsy Kerr (To win this category, Patsy must still attain a score of no less than 90% in the final round)
Global Rising Star: Tara Rose Kidd, Erin MacNeil and Mala Mcalpin
Global Therapist of the Year: César Tejedor, Silvia Roncetti and Daniela Boerma
Global Wellness Personality: Marc Cohen and Nigel Franklyn

To see the comprehensive list of HOW Awards finalists and regional shortlists, follow this link to the organisation's website.

Winners will be announced on 10 December 2020 at an online gala, following a final round of public voting – to vote in the competition click here.

The process
The competition kicked off this July, with industry members able to nominate themselves or others by submitting videos of them practising their chosen skill.

These were judged by a panel of 20 expert judges from the sector, including figures such as Nic Ronco, Daniella Russell, Lisa Starr, Michelle Hammond and Amy McDonald.

Successful applicants progressed to an interview stage with judges and, if successful, were then shortlisted into the final nominations category.

The fourth and final round involves either public votes, a 360-degree review, skills demo or video, and will conclude on 1 December.
