St. Barth resort Le Guanahani is developing new wellness programming in partnership with wellness consultant Amy McDonald in celebration of its 30th anniversary.

The programme will kick off with a Wellness Weekend led by yogi and meditation expert Dave Romanelli – author of Happy is the new Healthy, founder of MeditateON, and creator of Yoga + Chocolate, Yoga + Wine and Yoga for Foodies – who has carved out a niche making meditation fun and indulgent.

“Wellness is a growing travel trend that aligns with our philosophy and mission of offering guests fun, interactive and uplifting experiences,” said Martein Van Wagenberg, managing director at Le Guanahani.

The Wellness Weekend is set to take place from 4th – 7th February, 2016, and “is designed for those who would prefer to explore meditation with their toes in the sand, a glass of wine in their hand, and chocolate on their palate,” the company said.

“Most of us are so tech-addicted that it’s hard to unplug and truly, deeply enjoy a vacation,” said Romanelli. “The Wellness Weekend at Le Guanahani will pull that plug by offering guests a getaway rich in meditation to deepen the unwinding process, highlight the senses, and experience beauty, happiness and relaxation as it should be. The mindfulness tools and skills guests will learn will last well beyond their time in St. Barth.”

The weekend begins before guests even arrive, with a three-part online meditation series to prepare participants at home for the relaxation to come.

Once onsite, Romanelli will guide guests through sensory-inspired meditations based on his Meditate ON series, focused on slowing down, awakening the senses, and filling one’s mind with positivity, passion, and peace.

The weekend will also include culinary treats created by executive chef Nicola de Marchi, such as warm Caribbean dark chocolate with a gingerbread and foie gras lollipop and organic wine tastings with an expert sommelier.
