£10m destination spa opens at Lodore Falls Hotel
POSTED 06 Nov 2018 . BY Lauren Heath-Jones
Lodore Falls Hotel has invested £10m to transform the hotel into a destination spa
Being involved as a consultant on The Falls Spa has been a real joy. There is such a genuine point of difference from other spas I have worked on with the seamless design bringing the spa and spa suites right into the beautiful lakeside environment.
– Liz Holmes, spa consultant
Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa in the Lake District, UK, has opened a new destination spa following a £10m redevelopment.

Called The Falls Spa, the state-of-the-art Scandi-inspired retreat was designed by architects Unwin Jones Partnership with interiors created by Greyline Design, while Rigo Spa was responsible for the wet areas.

Designed to 'harness the healing powers of nature', the facilities include five treatment rooms and a fitness suite, as well as a Finnish sauna, a four-person mud rasul, ice fountain and four thermal suites including: a herbal sauna, a salt steam room, aroma steam room and laconium.

A number of alfresco spa experiences, including an open-air cold drench bucket and hot shower as well as a 16m outdoor infinity-edge vitality pool and an overflow hot tub, are designed to encourage guests to make the most of the stunning location.

The spa also boasts an extensive treatment menu, developed by spa consultant Liz Holmes, that offers a range of luxurious treatments and rituals, from brand partners including Elemis and Sultane De Saba, that are designed to give guests a renewed sense of wellbeing.

The hotel has also introduced 18 'Spa Suites', designed to transform the hotel into a spa destination, with Scandi-style decor, luxury bathrooms and relaxation areas, as well as spectacular views of the landscape. In addition, guests staying in the suites are given complimentary and unlimited access to the spa throughout their stay.
