Swim England and Everyone Active sign strategic partnership
POSTED 02 Jan 2019 . BY Tom Walker
The partnership will result in a more strategic approach encouraging more people to engage in swimming
National governing body Swim England and leisure operator Everyone Active have signed a new partnership in the hope of "creating a nation of swimmers".

The three-year partnership will focus on creating a strategic approach to encourage more people to engage in swimming and to tackle physical inactivity.

The two organisations will focus on a trio of key subjects in order to make improvements across all areas of aquatic activity. They will work together to encourage people of all ages to swim more, increase the number of young people learning to swim at Everyone Active centres and support 500 additional swim teachers to gain qualifications.

“Committing to three years of working together has enabled us to outline key objectives and take a forward-thinking approach to improve swimming provision across the country," said Jacqui Tillman, head of swimming at Everyone Active.

The partnership was announced just weeks after Swim England pledged to work 'more closely' with the leisure sector as part of efforts to increase sports participation numbers.

Swim England became a member of ukactive, the not-for-profit body representing the sector – a move which it said would allow it to form closer relationships with ukactive's membership network of gyms, leisure centres and physical activity providers.
