Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League in 2018
Spanish giant Real Madrid has replaced English Premier League club Manchester United as the world's richest club.

Generating record revenues of €750.9m (US$852, £651m), Real Madrid reclaims the title as the richest club for the first time since 2014-15.

The rankings are revealed in the latest Deloitte Football Money League, – now in its 22th year – which profiles the highest revenue generating clubs in world football.

Deloitte figures also show that, overall, the 20 highest earning football clubs in the world generated a record €8.3bn (£7.4bn) of combined revenue in 2017-18, an increase of 6 per cent on the previous year.

Real Madrid's fierce rivals FC Barcelona climb one place to second, nudging Manchester United to third.

While Man Utd has lost its top spot, there are a record six English clubs in the top 10 – including Tottenham Hotspur, which makes it into the top 10 for only the second time, having last appeared in 2006-07.

The top 10 revenue generating football clubs in 2017-18:

1. Real Madrid (Spain)
2. Barcelona (Spain)
3. Manchester United (England)
4. Bayern Munich (Germany)
5. Manchester City (England)
6. Paris Saint-Germain (France)
