Fitness technology business, Myzone is reporting strong takeup for its new Global MEP Challenge.

Live throughout April 2020, the Global MEP Challenge has been designed to help club operators inspire members to stay 'healthy, active and engaged' while they're unable to access their gym due to the coronavirus.

Registered Myzone users who achieve 1300 MEPs (Myzone Effort Points) will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win cash prizes.

Selected at random, the first prize winner will collect US$5,000 and ten runners up will each collect US$500.

Myzone says studies have shown members’ exercise levels can increase by up to 40 per cent with gamification.

Myzone's wearable fitness tracker shows and rewards effort when users work out. Myzone displays real-time heart rate, calories, and intensity with five, color-coded personalised zones.

The telemetry can be displayed collectively in group settings and exercise classes, or individually direct to a smartphone via the Myzone app.
