Centre reopens after swine flu case
POSTED 03 Jul 2009 . BY Pete Hayman
Mary Webb Sports Centre in Pontesbury, near Shrewsbury, which was temporarily closed by Shropshire Council when a staff member contracted the swine flu virus, has reopened to the public.

The council closed the facility as a precautionary measure in order to prevent the spread of the virus, while also ensuring that the site underwent a thorough cleaning process to ensure the health of the local community.

Liz Nicholson, Shropshire Council's director of children and young people's services, said: "Shropshire Council is working closely with the Health Protection Agency and other key partners to ensure that all schools throughout the county are given the appropriate advice and guidance at the right time

"It was to be expected that a case would be confirmed in Shropshire, and we have the right plans in place to respond accordingly."
