Said to help protect and extend the life of carpets, curtains and upholstery in hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars from infection as well as stains, it contains the special biocide Hygienilac from Premier Finishes. Fabritec exceeds British Standard testing requirements (BSEN 254920: 1992) for soil defence products and - according to independent testing - is effective against staining by many products such as coffee, tea, red wine, lager, blood and urine. It is also reported to be effective against numerous highly dangerous bacteria. ServiceMaster director of business development, Alan Lewin says: “Providing ServiceMaster's care protection programme is carried out, Fabritec will carry on working for around 12 months where usage is moderate.” The company recommends that carpets and upholstery should be professionally cleaned at least every six months. Fabritec can be applied or re-applied in situ to carpets, curtains and upholstery after cleaning.
