Working in partnership with Dione and Secure-Retail, display equipment company Dicoll has developed the UK's first unattended chip & PIN enabled kiosk solution.
The device contains both magnetic-stripe and chip card reader and provides secure EMV (level 1 & 2) technology for unattended, public-use applications.
It is pre-certified - meaning that all major UK banks already accept the transactions - and is also fitted with Dione's secure EMV transaction technology which incorporates the tamper proof and tamper responsive SecuraCellTM system.
The kiosk features a touchscreen interface which can provide a range of information sources, including status messages to assist users in the absence of a sales attendant.
Optional peripherals for the unit include keyboard and trackerball, coin/note validator and receipt/ticket printer. The Kiosk can also be fitted with a contactless SmartCard reader that is interoperable with the chip & PIN unit.
The kiosk is built from stainless steel to help it withstand the high levels of usage expected in a public environment, and is designed to comply with DDA requirements.
