The new Fusion lamp range was revealed to the UK's tanning industry at Professional Beauty early in March, its development based on feedback from consumers on the tanning requirements, habits and skin types of the actual sun-bed user. The lamps use high quality 'open glass' materials and phosphor blends as standard, designed to allow maximum UV transmission and performance. Included in the range as an option is the CCT system (Cup Cathode Technology) which minimises 'end blackening' and acts to extend the useful life of the lamp. Fusion lamps will offer SolGlass Technology, a patented glass-phosphor construction said to be the first to allow the transmission of UVB light between 290 & 300 nanometres. This results in the skin being up to 100 times more reactive to UVB light, promoting more effective melanin production. This in turn allows for an increased output of UVA light at the most effective wavelengths to give immediate darkening. Blue will be supporting the brand with a full salon marketing pack.
