Icom has introduced the IC-F25SR commercial grade licence free transceiver.
A tough, easy to use radio with a high capacity battery pack and which will meet the demands of the PMR446 service (licence-exempt short range), the IC-F25SR is specifically aimed at the commercial user or outdoor activity enthusiast.
It offers maximum flexibility and instant communication between members of a group in and around buildings and over short distances, making it ideal for sectors such as construction, catering, event management, neighbourhood watch, factories and farms, as well as orienteering, walking or rambling etc.
There are only three controls - transmit button, volume control and channel selector - which makes it suitable for high turnover environments and shift work where the radio is constantly passed from person to person.
A major feature is the large capacity, 2000mAh Lithium-Ion battery pack which comes as standard and can provide 26.5 hours of operating time. Weighing 300g and measuring 53 x 195 x 38mm, the IC-F25SR is easy to carry and fits comfortably in the hand. For the more security conscious, two types of optional voice scramblers are available.
The IC-F25SR shares many of the same accessories with the Icom range of professional radios including headsets, speaker microphones, batteries and cases. It also comes with a 2-year warranty.
