DC Leisure introduces SDQMS

DC Leisure has launched a Sports Development Quality Management System (SDQMS). The announcement comes after the company became the first leisure operator to achieve Quest Sports Development accreditation across the entire group last year.
Explaining, Richard Millard, the company's Client Relations and Sports Development Director, says: “Last year’s in-depth Quest Sports Development process, as well as feedback from our clients, led us to introduce this initiative.
"There is also a general, industry-wide move towards unifying sport, education and health, and the SDQMS will help us to achieve this by working with key partners from a variety of sectors at local, regional and national levels.”
The first phase of the SDQMS consists of the development and distribution of a series of manuals. The first gives an overview of sports development, while the second is an in-depth swimming development manual.
These are currently being used by general managers across the company’s 118 sites, after being introduced via in-depth workshops.
The next in the series, which is being rolled out gradually, is a guide to sports development in other sports. Completing the set is a manual which will take a broader look at the role of sports development for healthy living.
