Heritage seminars on DDA impact to begin
POSTED 22 Feb 2005 . BY
A group of heritage organisations, collectively called the Regional Historic Environment Forum, is inviting the public – and in particular disabled people – to share their experiences of historic attractions in a series of countrywide seminars, beginning on 3 March and running until mid-July.

The free seminars will focus on the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and reveal how heritage attractions are addressing the DDA. There will be both public sector and separate heritage sector seminars.

Heather Smith, a National Trust Access for All advisor, said: “The more we talk positively about access and work with partners such as English Heritage, the more practical solutions we will be able to discover together.”

The seminars are sponsored by the National Trust, English Heritage and the Disability Rights Commission. Details: www.nationaltrust.org.uk (Picture: NTPL/David Levenson)
