Spa industry on course in Australia
POSTED 05 Oct 2005 . BY
A company which specialises in training for the spa industry, has launched the first of its workshops in Melbourne.

Spatrain will run career development workshops on subjects such as marketing, sales, human resource management and recruitment strategies, as well as courses for therapists wanting to move into sales management or become a business owner.

More advanced business workshops in total quality management, spa operations and finance will be offered from February 2006.

Spatrain is part of Spacareers – a recruitment, consulting and career development service for the spa industry, headed up by Erica Yeats and Vanessa Gay, who is currently the vice president of the Australasian Spa Association.

The company has offices in Queensland and Melbourne and will begin by running its one-day courses in Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland.

“Spacareers has evolved from a great passion and experience and knowledge of the beauty, spa and hospitality industry,” says Gay. “Within these sectors, recruitment services have typically been rudimentary at best across Australasia and it is our aim to help raise the industry standard.” Details: +61 7 55 758861
