December opening for Como Shambhala
POSTED 22 Nov 2005 . BY
Holistic health company COMO Shambhala will open its latest spa in Begawan Giri, Bali, in December.

Situated around 15 minutes away from Ubud, the Begawan Giri estate will feature five residence areas each comprising four or five suites and a large swimming pool, plus five, one-bedroom standalone villas with private pools.

COMO Shambhala spa facilities have been added to an existing property at Begawan Giri by architect Cheong Yew Kwan, who also designed the original property. The facilities include an outdoor hydrotherapy area, a swimming pool, separate male/female steam and sauna areas and expansive rest spaces.

The estate rests on a jungle-covered riverbank bordered by the sacred Ayung River. All the new COMO facilities use water from The Source, a natural spring locally known for its healing properties.

With the Begawan Giri estate, COMO Shambhala intends to provide a more personalised approach to customer service within the high-end destination spa market and the Bali property – which is the largest project yet undertaken by the group – will become the flagship site for the COMO brand.

Health professionals on site will include therapists, consultants, resident teachers, visiting masters and activity guides while practical matters – such as guest’s dietary requirements and daily activities – will be managed by dedicated personal assistants.

For the launch of Begawan Giri, Personal Programmes for guests will focus on subjects such as stress management, weight management, therapeutic nutrition, skin revitalisation and detoxification.

There will also be therapists who specialise in traditional Eastern techniques including Thai, Indonesian, Shiatsu and Ayurvedic massage technique alongside a reflexologist and Reiki Master.

Physical activity at the estate will also be encouraged and include mountain biking, hiking, climbing, rowing and whitewater rafting, using the nearby mountains, volcanoes and rivers. Swimming and tennis will also be available on site. Details: cse.comoshambhala.bz
