First phase of Red Rock spa development opens
POSTED 10 Aug 2006 . BY Sarah Todd
The first phase of a new spa development has opened at the Red Rock resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.

Covering 35,000sq ft (2,320sq m), the first phase includes 20 treatment rooms, three of which are couple’s suites.

Other facilities include an outdoor spa lap pool and separate male and female steamrooms, saunas, cold plunge pools, rain showers, yoga gardens and fitness rooms.

The spa will focus on holistic treatments to promote health and rejuvenation, inspired by the East and including reiki, shiatsu, ashiutsu and Thai massage as well as Western treatments such as crystal caviar facials.

A number of fitness and wellness programmes will also be offered, such as nutrition consultation, personal training and private meditation classes as well as ‘adventure spa’ activities such as kayaking, bike tours, horseback riding and belly dancing.

The spa was designed by Architropolis while Cary Collier of Collier and Collier and Blu Spas was involved in a consultancy role.

Spa brands used will include Kerstin Florian, Phytocane and Aromatherapy Associates. An exclusive signature line of bath products has also been created for the spa called Red Rock Spa Essentials and will include body wash, shampoo and salt scrubs.

The second phase of the spa will open in May 2007, after which the spa will total 38,000sq ft (3,530sq m).

Red Rock is owned and operated by Station Casinos.

Station also owns and operates a number of other casinos and hotels in Las Vegas and Nevada, including the Boulder Station Hotel & Casino and the Magic Star Casino and Gold Rush Casino in Henderson, Nevada. Details: www.redrocklasvegas.com
