Beatles boutique hotel to be developed in Liverpool
POSTED 30 Aug 2006 . BY
Plans have been revealed for a £17m boutique hotel in Liverpool, UK, dedicated to the Beatles.

Scheduled to open in the autumn 2007, the 110-bedroom Hard Day’s Night Hotel will be located in a refurbished Grade II-listed building located yards from the famous Cavern Club.

Being developed by Bowdena, with help from the team behind the Cavern Club, the four-star property will incorporate the Beatles’ story into its design and include more than 110 pieces of original artwork. The hotel’s logo depicts the opening chord of the 1964 hit, Hard Day’s Night.

Jonathan Davies, director of Bowdena, said: “The hotel is a unique concept, which will celebrate the Beatles legend in a subtle and creative way. Thousands of Beatles fans visit Liverpool every year to pay reverence to the band, what better place for them to stay?

“It would have been too easy for us to create a hotel swamped with memorabilia. Instead the understated Beatles references will be weaved into the overall design of the hotel.”

Terri Lynn, national sales director at Hospitality Management International and management consultant for the Hard Day’s Night Hotel, added: “Guests can expect to find everything they would normally associate with a luxury boutique hotel. The understated Beatles references will provide a fun twist, without being intrusive.”

The hotel will also boast two penthouse rooms with views over Liverpool, three rooms for events and conferences, two restaurants, a bar and lounge, a gallery and a gift shop.

The scheme has received £2.3m in funding from the European Objective One Programme.

Every year, Liverpool, which is set to be European Capital of Culture in 2008, welcomes around 600,000 visitors a year seeking the Beatles ‘experience’ and spending £21m. Details: www.harddaysnighthotel.com
