Dreamworld celebrates Wiggles 15th birthday with new ride
POSTED 20 Sep 2006 . BY
Earlier this month, Australian TV stars The Wiggles celebrated their 15th birthday at Wiggles World in Dreamworld theme park on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

A part of the celebrations, The Wiggles held an hour-long concert before launching a brand new attraction at the park, Dorothy’s Rosy Tea Cup Ride, designed for three-year-olds.

Dreamworld’s CEO, Stephen Gregg, said: “Our partnership with The Wiggles joins two great Australian entertainment icons that are both leaders in their fields.

“We’re extremely excited about the relationship and the future opportunities it will bring. The international popularity of The Wiggles provides a wonderful opportunity for the tourism industry; the Gold Coast and specifically Dreamworld, now hold a whole new appeal in markets where The Wiggles are incredibly strong.”

Dreamworld, which hosts the Australian Big Brother house and recently unveiled the FlowRider surf attraction, is also set to open a separately-gated AUS$56m (£24m, 35m euro, US$41m) waterpark in December this year.
