Banyan Tree to open Vietnam resort
POSTED 30 Mar 2007 . BY Sarah Todd
Asia-based resort and spa operator Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is to build an integrated resort spanning more than 200 hectares in Cu Du Village, Loc Vinh Commune, Vietnam.

Called Laguna Vietnam, the resort will be built in three phases and include a Banyan Tree resort and spa featuring beach hut villas; an Angsana resort and spa featuring Angsana suites and villas; a golf hotel with convention facilities and a further two luxury hotels to be operated by other leading brands.

Banyan Tree has obtained an Investment Certificate from the management board of the Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone in order to develop the resort, which is located 35km north of Danang International Airport.

The Investment Certificate was vital to the proposed development, while all parties will now meet to agree to the terms of the lease contract for the site.

Pending agreement, construction on site is expected to begin within the next 12 months.
