Hyatt develops Russian hotel portfolio
POSTED 11 May 2007 . BY Helen Patenall
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open five new hotels in Russia and eastern Europe over the next three years.

The new properties will include one Park Hyatt-branded hotel – which will form part of a larger, five-building complex also including a spa – one Grand Hyatt and three Hyatt Regency hotels.

The hotels will be situated overlooking Saint Sofia Square in Kiev, on the banks of the River Iset in Yekaterinburg, in Tbilsi in eastern Georgia, on the grounds of the City Park in Dushanbe and in downtown Moscow.

A spokesperson said: “Hyatt sees the former Soviet states as an emerging market economy with substantial growth and future potential.

“These markets are attracting an ever-increasing and fast-growing number of international companies and Hyatt wants to be part of this above average growth.”

There are currently 214 Hyatt-branded hotels and resorts in 43 countries in the world.
