Safari and study at Kenyan college
POSTED 31 May 2007 . BY Sarah Todd
The Alison Caroline Institute (ACI) in Nairobi, Africa, has introduced a new initiative to encourage potential international students to make the most of their surroundings while they attend the Kenyan beauty college.

The courses at the ACI range from three months to a year in length, and all offer foundation courses in anatomy and physiology, followed by specialist courses in subjects such as massage, reflexology, beauty and fitness, all of which combine theoretical work with practical client time.

The Muthaiga-based college now also organises educational and relaxation-themed safari tours for its students, including trips to the Masaai Mara.

Final accreditation is awarded by the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC). A maximum of 50 students – of which 10 tend to be international – are accepted to the college at any one time, ensuring one-to-one benefits are given to all the students.

ACI director, Alison Caroline Ng’ethe, said: “ACI is a small, personal college where we focus on each student’s achievement as an all-rounder. For our students, coming to Kenya not only fulfils their dreams of embarking on an adventure, but also, through the spirit of their surroundings, enhances their wellbeing.”
