Huvafen Fushi's spa revamp is completed
POSTED 10 Jul 2007 . BY Sarah Todd
The two underwater treatment areas within the spa at the luxury Huvafen Fushi resort in the Maldives have recently undergone an extensive redevelopment.

Masterminded by the British designer and architect Richard Hywel Evans, the underwater areas where therapies are performed have been reinvented with the addition of a separate relaxation pod with a marine seascape where guests can chill out post-treatment.

A new Barrisol ceiling has been installed, enabling therapists to vary the colour and intensity of light in order to enhance or tone down the mood, while pebble marble tiles have also been added.

The LIME spa at Huvafen Fushi comprises eight treatment rooms, of which two area underwater. Other facilities include an ice room, sauna, steamroom, onsen and mist showers. There is also a relaxation lounge with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean alongside the Lonu Veyo, a salt-water flotation pool.

Huvafen Fushi is part of the Per Aquum group, a specialist spa, resort and residence management company.

Per Aquum currently manages properties in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Dubai and the Seychelles and is looking at additional sites in the Indian Ocean region, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Morocco and the Middle East.
