Hand Picked Hotels (HPH) has acquired Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa near Silverstone in Northamptonshire, expanding its country house hotel portfolio to 20 properties.

The Grade I Listed hotel was purchased for an undisclosed amount and is part of a strategic expansion by HPH.

The 58-bedroom hotel is a destination for meetings, corporate events, weddings and leisure guests and includes a 70-cover bistro, the Equilibrium restaurant and a 29-seat cinema.

The hotel's Grayshott Studio Spa, which opened in 2009, includes six treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool, outdoor hydro pool, steamroom, sauna and Nautilus Gym.

Skincare products on offer include Guinot, Aromatherapy Associates Jane Iredale and Jessica.

HPH was created in 2001 by former lawyer turned hotelier Julia Hands - the wife of financier Guy Hands.

The acquisition is the second this year by the group, following a deal for St Pierre Park Hotel & Golf Resort in Guernsey in June.

The Grayshott Studio Spa at Fawsley Hall is an offshoot of the historic Grayshott Spa in Surrey – one of the oldest spas in the UK.
