Gleneagles Hotel reopens leisure complex following £5m upgrade

The Club has undergone £5m of refurbishments and renovations
The Gleneagles Hotel has announced the re-opening of The Club following £5m of investment and 12 months work.

The revamp, which coincides with the hotel’s 90th anniversary, sees the hotel’s leisure complex upgraded to create a more luxurious space for relaxation.

The refurbishment was led by the Gleneagles team and London-based interior designers Sedley Place, and features a new reception with a viewing gallery, waiting area and dry/wet stairs to allow swimmers and gym users to remain separated. The changing facilities have also been enlarged with more lockers, vanity tables and added space for changing cubicles.

The former lap pool has now been transformed into an adult zone with the latest heat experiences including a spa pool, sauna, steamroom and heated loungers. The existing leisure pool has been completely remodelled, with a waterfall feature, bubble jet crossing and bubble pool. The old outdoor pool has also undergone a refurbishment and combines the look and feel of a hot mountain pool.

Refurbishments are part of an ongoing development programme for Gleneagles, hosts of the 2014 Ryder Cup in September. The hotel has previously unveiled a series of developments including the £3m overhaul of the Dormy Clubhouse in 2011, the installation of The Blue Bar - a new outdoor whisky and cigar bar - in the same year, and a £1m investment in its PGA Centenary Course in 2012. In 2013, the resort invested £1m in refurbishing 36 of its 232 rooms, as part of a rolling revamp.
