British Military Fitness seeks cover with new indoor offering
POSTED 22 Oct 2014 . BY Jak Phillips
Indoor classes will be offered in UK cities including Manchester, Edinburgh, London and Birmingham
Battling the elements is a familiar pastime for British Military Fitness (BMF) trainers and devotees, but those less inclined towards al fresco exercise can also get in on the action as the training model will soon be offered indoors.

With winter fast approaching, BMF is bidding to counter the limitations of darker evenings and broaden its appeal by running indoor classes at 14 locations across the UK.

As outdoor exercise training and fitness technology has grown increasingly popular, much of the recent discourse around the health and fitness industry has centred on the migration of activity beyond the traditional four walls of the gym. That some outdoor fitness classes are now heading the other way is therefore interesting in the sense that, during the British winter at least, the grass is not always greener on the outside.

The move certainly doesn’t signify a retreat for BMF though, which will continue to offer a full timetable at its 140 outdoor locations, while also getting a crack at the indoor exercise market.

“We wanted to see if there was scope for indoor venues so as to appeal to those who may feel more relaxed exercising indoors rather than in the dark throughout the winter months,” said BMF managing director Rob Love.

“We appreciate that exercising outdoors on dark and cold nights can bring a stop to someone’s normal routine. The indoor classes will mean people can maintain their exercise regimes all year round.”
