The archery competition is proposed for the Hollywood Park venue being built for the city's new NFL franchise
Organisers of the Los Angeles Olympic bid for 2024 cemented the sustainability credentials of the project, confirming that only existing, already planned, or temporary venues will be used should they be successful.

LA 2024’s committee revealed the venues for archery, modern pentathlon and mountain biking, with all three taking place in planned of existing facilities.

Archery will take place in the LA Stadium and Entertainment District at Hollywood Park, which is being constructed for National Football League (NFL) franchise the LA Rams following its move from St Louis. The US$1.9bn (£1.5bn, €1.8bn) stadium has been designed by HKS.

Modern pentathlon will take place in the city’s South Bay Sports Park and StubHub Center. Rugby, tennis, field hockey and track cycling will also take place in the former.

Additionally, the mountain biking competition will be staged in the Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park.

Casey Wasserman, chair of LA 2024, said the bid organisers “has the luxury of selecting the fine existing arenas in LA – not building new ones from scratch”.

“This low-risk, sustainable venue configuration will mean no surprises for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Federations, and optimal conditions for every athlete in 2024,” added LA 2024 chief executive Gene Sykes.
