The annual Sweat event kicks off in London today (20 February), offering the UK's fitness industry a platform to discuss the future trends within the thriving boutique sector.

Now in its fourth year, the event is organised by industry body ukactive and will feature more than 200 sector delegates.

Sweat is being held at The Old Truman Brewery in East London and will feature a number of keynotes, panel discussions and workshops.

Among the highlights will be a keynote group fitness expert Emma Barry, entitled "Building a Badass Boutique in 2020".

Other sessions will cover topics such as the use of studio space, programming, consolidating success and aggregators.

During the event, a new report outlining membership habits and retention in the fitness sector will also be published. The Member Choice report will provide new evidence exploring the difference in membership length, visit frequency and retention of members of single and multiple operators.
