Destination wellness resort and spa brand Miraval Resorts has partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) – a non-profit, grassroots US organisation providing free advocacy, education and support to people affected by mental illness.

Together in 2021, Miraval and NAMI will launch a series of events and programmes that aim to promote the intersection of mindfulness and mental wellbeing.

“Throughout its 25-year history, Miraval has helped countless guests re-centre their minds and souls, create balance in their lives and elevate their spirits,” said Susan Santiago, head of Miraval operations at Hyatt.

“Part of staying in balance is learning how to move through time with purpose and mindfulness, and with our new NAMI partnership, Miraval can positively impact even more people, helping them build resilience and foster peace of mind during these difficult times and beyond.”

As part of this partnership, Miraval and NAMI will jointly launch a series of free videos in Spring 2021, including topics such as ASMR, breathwork and meditation.

Spa Business identified ASMR as a trend to watch in the 2017/2018 foresight section of the annual Spa Business handbook.

The video series, which will be available on Miraval's website and promoted by NAMI, will allow anyone to access the benefits of mindfulness and foster their mental wellbeing through the guidance of Miraval’s trusted experts.

In addition, the two organisations are planning to host a series of live virtual events featuring Miraval experts and NAMI specialists and representatives, focused on important wellbeing topics such as wellness leadership and mindful stress management.

Miraval also plans to continue supporting NAMI with additional philanthropic initiatives that directly support the non-profit and strive to increase awareness surrounding mental wellbeing and widen access to helpful resources.
