Fairmont’s second Moroccan outpost has opened in the bay of Taghazout, renowned for its golden sand beaches, azure waters and extraordinary sunsets.

The 146-room Fairmont Taghazout Bay stretches over 18-hectares of beachfront land and is anchored by a 1,400sq m spa haven, conceived as a sanctuary of calm and tranquillity with a refined, bright and invigorating atmosphere.

The spa menu offers authentic Moroccan treatments inspired by the semi-nomadic Imazighe people – known as the Berbers – with rituals including mud-mask facials and traditional hammam purification experiences.

The offering also incorporates massages and facials supplied by Spanish skincare and spa brand Natura Bissé.

Facilities include eight single treatment rooms, two couples’ treatment rooms, two single hammams and a couples’ hammam.

Guests can also access a wet thermal area, relaxation lounge, outdoor wet circuit with salt therapy pool, yoga studio Shala, outdoor treatment spaces and a garden area.

The Fairmont Fit programme completes the offering with a fitness facility and a dynamic schedule of activities including private stretching sessions, aerial yoga lessons and one-on-one surfing tutorials.

The resort exudes an architecture that combines sophistication and authenticity, inspired by the fullness of a serene oasis.

Its aesthetic design draws from a register of semi-nomadic codes inspired by Amazigh culture to create a space of wellbeing by the ocean, ideal for welcoming guests to a sensory journey in the heart of nature.

Blending in naturally with its sand-coloured backdrop, the design was completed by American architects HKS, in partnership with Moroccan architect Abdessamad Achrai.

The HKS design is inspired by the dwellings of the Berbers rather than the riad architecture and bustling street markets familiar in Morocco’s biggest cities.

Additional resort facilities include four distinct gastronomic concepts, alongside two themed bars and a tea lounge, plus a Hangout Teen Club and Fun 4 Kids Club.
