Mandara Spa is to build and operate a luxury spa at the Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Mandara, the resort spa division of Steiner Leisure, which is also the parent company of spa product brand, Elemis, will build the $1.25m, 7,000sq ft spa and lease it for an initial six years, with five successive three-year renewal options.
The spa will be designed with Mandara’s ‘signature contemporary-Balinese simplicity’ and will offer 11 treatment rooms with therapies using Elemis products, a relaxation and meditation area with ocean views and balconies, a 1,400sq ft fitness centre, steamrooms, nail salon and hair spa.
Spa services tailored to the Puerto Rican setting and environment will be offered.
The 500-acre AAA Four Diamond Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort is situated 20 miles east of San Juan and boasts 600 rooms, two championship golf courses, a 48,000sq ft conference centre and a mile-long secluded beach.
