P&O Australian Resorts and the Authentic Outback Experience are to jointly open a £1.7m (A$4.1m) premium outback station in Australia’s Queensland, 186 miles west of Cairns.

Wrotham Park Station, set on a 1.5 million acre property, is to be transformed into a resort comprising of a homestead with a swimming pool and ten guest quarters, situated on the banks of the Mitchell River.

The station will cater for 20 guests at a time with the price of £345 (A$800) per night including accommodation, all meals and drinks and selected activities – which could include wildlife walks, canoeing and stargazing.
