SpaCare International opens flagship spa
POSTED 06 Jul 2004 . BY
Singapore-based SpaCare International has relocated one of its spas – the Aspara Goodwood Park Hotel – and reopened it as its flagship site.

Aspara is the premier brand of SpaCare International, which operates five Aspara spas in Singapore, two in Malaysia and Thailand and one in Indonesia and China. The group plans to open five more spas by 2005, some in countries it is already operating in and also in new markets, including Moscow.

The Aspara at the Goodwood Park Hotel officially opened on 1 July, after relocating from the hotel’s main property into the hotel gardens. At 10,000 sq ft, the spa is the largest of the group’s city-based spas and is marketing itself as ‘the ultimate in exquisite pampering.’

The spa has 12 treatment rooms in total: three hydrotherapy, eight couples suites and one room where facials are given. Two of the couples rooms are VIP suites, with their own private Jacuzzis and baths, overlooking the tropical flora in the spa’s garden. French interior design company, IMA was responsible for creating the spa with the emphasis on space and shared spa experiences. As well as couples rooms, the spa is heavily marketing its spa party suites, which can accommodate up to ten people at a time and are created by converting the existing treatment rooms into one large one.

European technologies have been used in the hydrotherapy rooms, including an Aqualux Minerals bath by UK-based Finders International, which is the first of its kind in Asia. Guests sit in a whirlpool bath enriched with minerals, which promote relaxation and aid skin ailments such as eczema, while a sun canopy overhead tans the body simultaneously.

Signature treatments include the Tahitian Body Scrub, made from sea salts and coffee beans blended with honey, and the Grapeseed Body Scrub and Winery Body Wrap, which uses a concoction of wine and grapes from California as an anti-oxidant. Details: +65 6339 9115
