Women-only boxing operator 30 Minute Hit sets out US expansion plans

The chain plans to secure 20 new sites in the US by the end of 2019
Boxing-based fitness operator 30 Minute Hit has revealed plans to open 20 studios in the US by the end of 2019.

The Canadian company, which currently has more than 60 locations across Canada, the US, Ireland and Saudi Arabia, said market conditions were "perfect" for further growth.

"Boxing workouts are exploding in popularity and boutique fitness concepts are growing at an astronomical rate," said Deanna Loychuck, founder and President of 30 Minute Hit. "Add to that today's climate of sociocultural change and female empowerment, and you've got prime conditions for the growth of 30 Minute Hit."

Founded in Vancouver in 2004, the franchise-based chain has a strict women-only policy and aims to offer a "safe, comfortable environment that empowers women to reach new peaks of physical and mental strength".

There is also an emphasis on convenience – the concept doesn't have a specific class schedule. Rather, each studio offers a continuous 30-minute HIIT circuit, which means members can drop in at any time of day and take part in trainer-led drills and exercises tailored to all fitness levels.

"We're more than just a place to get a great cardio and strength work out," Loychuck adds.

"Our studios become a source and centre of strength of women's lives. Our members tell us constantly how they appreciate having a safe community that allows them the time and space to be strong and invest in themselves."
