Dan Rees has been appointed to oversee the growth of training company Premier Global NASM's operations in the UK.

As managing director, Rees will be responsible for the strategic leadership and growth strategy, as the organisation looks to expand its footprint in the sport, fitness and wellbeing training sector.

Rees first joined the company in September 2019 as commercial director.

The appointment was announced by Premier Global NASM's parent company Ascend Learning.

“Dan brings over 20 years of fitness industry experience having served in key roles at Central YMCA, YMCA fit, YMCA Training, and Focus Training," saod Laurie McCartney, global president of Ascend Learning's fitness and wellness operations.

"Throughout his career Dan has been responsible for strategic direction, growth and revenue achievement. I look forward to Dan continuing to move the business forward into the next phase of growth.”

Commenting on his appointment, Rees said: “Over the coming months, I will work with operators, both directly and through close collaboration with CIMSPA and ukactive, to ensure we continue to use our assets and expertise to match the needs of employers with the needs and aspirations of individuals entering and working within the workforce."

Ascend Learning acquired Premier Training in 2017 and appointed Brad Tucker, vice president and general manager to oversee the integration of the UK operations and the re-positioning of the brand as Premier Global NASM.

This transition is now complete and, as part of Rees' appointment, Tucker has now transitioned back to the US.
