Wondercise will reveal details of a new fitness experience at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2023.

Wondercise gathers online and on-site users together by connecting them in real-time and allowing competition on the same leaderboard during the same class. The concept will be rolled out in the company’s new flagship gym in Taiwan, which is launching in Q2 2023. The new fitness facility will offer aerobics, yoga and spinning classes.

The concept is made possible through Wondercise’s proprietary Live Motion Matching technology. It involves the user wearing a tracker band or compatible device (Apple Watch or Garmin, for example,) while they work out. This allows motion data to be recorded and displayed in real-time via the Wondercise app. The results – which compare the user's actions with the trainer's – are displayed on a leaderboard during a group fitness session, facilitating a gamified approach to the workout, which increases motivation, encourages friendly competition and community growth.

"Wondercise offers a value-added service and, with the new gym, it's more than just a fitness app,” said Eric Chuang, CEO of Wondercise. “For trainers and coaches, it's a new way to expand their reach and a new means of income. For users like you and me, it provides more options on how, where, when, and with whom we want to work out. For Wondercise, we are increasing our content volume while expanding our user base.

As well as a tool that can potentially grow gym operators’ communities and a fitness instructor’s customer base, Wondercise also offers a customisable option for the corporate sector that can become part of an employee benefits programme.

“People want more freedom in everything they do, with the right tools to help them succeed,” said Chuang. “With our technology, we give people this kind of freedom and provide unique, effective and sociable experiences."

Live demonstrations of Wondercise’s gamified, hybrid fitness concept will run at CES 2023 from 5-7 January.
