Marriott International has announced the signing of three all-inclusive luxury resorts in Mexico with developer AB Living Group (AB Living).

AB Living is a newly-launched global real estate development firm conceptualised by Alfredo Bataller – founder of established Spanish destination spa brand SHA Wellness Clinic. AB Living is the totality of AB Wellness (responsible for the SHA brand), AB Hospitality and AB Properties.

The company's mission is to develop properties that touch on each of AB’s entities – wellness, hospitality and real estate.

AB Living's new deal with Marriott will see the two organisations realise all-inclusive hotels under the following brands: JW Marriott, W Hotels and The Luxury Collection.

The properties will include:
• Almare Luxury Collection on Isla Mujeres (opening 2024).
• JW Marriott Costa Mujeres (opening 2026).
• All-Inclusive W Marriot Costa Mujeres (opening 2026).

Marriott is already working with AB Living to develop The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort in Mexico which is slated to open in 2025.

“Working with the most prominent brand in hospitality is exactly the vision for AB Living,” stated Alejandro Bataller, vice president of AB Living.

“As we continue to expand our services, offerings and developments, we are eager to work with like-minded companies and brands that are evolving the travel and hospitality space and we look forward to doing just that with Marriott.”

“These resorts will elevate the current hospitality offering in the destination and further expand our luxury footprint in the region,” added Laurent De Kousemaeker, Marriott’s chief development officer.
