Quadrant Hotel Group launched in New Zealand
POSTED 03 Aug 2006 . BY Helen Patenall
Auckland-based property company Melview Developments has launched a new group of hotels in New Zealand called the Quadrant Hotel Group.

This marks the group’s first venture into managing and operating hotels.

The first property in the chain, The Quadrant – Auckland, opened at the beginning of August.

The property features 250 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as a gym, spa and sauna. Later this month, the Quad Kitchen will offer breakfast dining and the Quad Bar will follow in September.

Melview’s managing director Nigel McKenna said: “We are keenly aware that accommodation supply is currently not meeting the demand from both business travellers and tourists, which is only going to intensify with major international events such as the 2011 Rugby World Cup.”

Construction of a second Quadrant hotel will begin in late 2007. The Quadrant – Queenstown will comprise part of Kawarau Falls Station. Details: www.thequadrant.com
