The new gym features Technogym’s Unity equipment
The health club at Ribby Hall Village in Wrea Green, Lancashire has launched a new £1m gym overlooking the golf course.

The new 413sq ft (38sq m) gym at Ribby Hall - named Club of the Year at the 2013 ukactive Flame Awards - has more than 60 stations and has doubled the free weights on offer at the health club.

The gym has a spinning zone equipped with Startrac’s NXT Blade spin bikes and interactive eSpinners. The bikes feature high resolution touch screens with embedded workouts, an ipod dock and wireless heart rate monitoring.

All equipment at the gym features interactive TV screens to allow members to personalise workout plans, as well as virtual training environments.

Equipment includes Technogym’s Unity – a swipe screen cardio console that allows users to access websites and content during workouts, and Omnia, a new functional training solution for users of all levels. Artis, Excite and Omnia also supplied equipment.

Mark Leech, senior manager of sport & leisure at Ribby Hall Village said: “We pride ourselves on design excellence and quality in our offering to our members. The layout of the gym is heavily design led and doesn’t look like your typical gym.

“Gyms can be intimidating for the most confident of people, however we believe the open space, and attention to detail of every fixture, feature and fitting has been carefully considered, and will help members to enhance the way in which they work out.”

Adult membership packages start from £34 a month and family memberships start at £84.50 per month.

This latest project follows a refurbishment of the fitness studios and tennis courts and the opening of the archery centre earlier this year.
