Jumeirah Group has been appointed to operate the Capri Palace in Anacapri, Italy. The hotel will relaunch as Capri Palace, Jumeirah on 23 April 2020.

Opened in the 1960s, the 68-room hotel overlooks the Gulf of Naples and is designed in the style of an 18th-century Neapolitan palazzo. It features two Michelin star restaurants, L’Olivo and Il Riccio, which have three stars between them.

Under Jumeirah’s direction, the property is set to undergo upgrades and refurbishments and has increased Jumeirah’s European portfolio to six hotels.

The hotel is home to a medi-spa – called Capri Beauty Farm – which has been directed by professor of medicine and surgery, Francesco Canonaco, since 1994.

The facility offers specialised signature treatments, most notably the Leg School, which is Canonaco’s patented topical method to improve venous and lymphatic circulation of the lower limbs.

The technique begins with the enveloping of the legs in cooling medicated mud, followed by their wrapping in medicated bandages. The treatment is completed with a Kneipp Path, a wading process designed to stimulate circulation.

The Leg School, which costs €180 (US$199, £152), is claimed to increase the skin’s elasticity, stimulate lymphatic drainage and reduce swelling and water retention.

The menu also offers traditional treatments including facials, massages, scrubs and wraps. Biologique Recherche, Valmont and Sarah Chapman have been chosen as product houses.

José Silva, CEO of Jumeirah Group, commented: “Capri Palace is one of Europe’s most recognised and well-respected hotels, with a global reputation and following. It embodies our brand values of providing excellent service, unrivalled culinary experiences and inspiring design.”

The group has also announced that the hotel’s current general manager Ermanno Zanini will continue in his role, taking on additional responsibilities as regional VP for Italy and Spain for Jumeirah Group.
