Franchised gym chain UFC Gym is introducing compression recovery systems at some of its sites.

The US-based company has signed a partnership deal with sports science specialist NormaTec, which will see NormaTec's PULSE 2.0 Series Recovery Systems being made accessible to members at select UFC Gym sites.

The compression system helps athletes warm up their body pre-workout and recover quickly post-training or competition.

NormaTec's systems are currently used by a number of professional sports teams in the US, as well as elite athletes and fitness enthusiasts across a broad range of sports.

The PULSE 2.0 Series uses compressed air to massage limbs, mobilise fluid and increase circulation, helping athletes reduce pain and soreness.

According to Adam Sedlack, president of UFC Gym, the company's close connection to high-performance sport – as a brand extension of the world's premier MMA competition – makes it perfectly suited for the addition of a high-end recovery solution.

"A critical piece to any successful fitness programme is recovery and we're excited to provide access to the same recovery benefits enjoyed by professional athletes by bringing NormaTec to our clubs," said Sedlack.

"We strive to empower members to achieve their fitness goals and to support our rapidly growing franchise community through access to the best tools on the market."
