Destination spa Canyon Ranch is offering a brain recharge programme at its recently launched Woodside Wellness Retreat destination in California.

Running from 15-19 March 2020, the programme is designed to provide guests with lasting practical strategies and tools to regularly refresh their brain and instil a mindset to be ready to thrive every day.

Dr Heidi Hanna, PhD, and Dr Evian Gordon, MD, PhD, will guide the retreat which consists of a total eight daily workshops and seminars, with topics ranging from understanding your brain’s energy capabilities and tackling stress to using neuroplasticity to nurture creativity and positivity.

Hanna is chief energy officer of Synergy Brain Fitness, a company providing brain-based performance programmes. She’s also an author, founding partner of the Academy for Brain Health and Performance and a fellow of the American Institute of Stress.

Gordon is CEO of employee wellness programme Total Brain, which is used in wellness programmes for employees and recovery programmes at addiction clinics in the US. Gordon has published 300 scientific papers and recently authored a book called The brain revolution: know and train new brain habits.

With a starting price of US$3,185, the retreat can be enhanced for an additional fee with destination excursions, wellness services and visits to the performance lab – for assessment, coaching and training sessions.

Guests can also upgrade with a visit to Canyon Ranch Spa which has five treatment rooms and features a steamroom, sauna, saline pool and whirlpool, all of which are available 24 hours a day.

Formerly The Stillheart Institute, Canyon Ranch Wellness Retreat – Woodside has been reimagined and refurbished by interior design firm Cole Martinez Curtis and Associates.

The destination is inspired by the surrounding landscape and designed to foster connectivity with the outdoors and lead to a deeper sense of place. The property features 14 bedrooms in the main lodge and 24 bedrooms in standalone luxury treehouses, which are elevated on stilts and immersed amongst the forest.
