Luxury Thai wellness resort Group Chiva-Som is combatting widespread anxiety and social isolation during lockdown by offering one-on-one live wellbeing consultations.

The resort is reaching out to people in lockdown at home to relieve social isolation using live video health and wellbeing consultations – conducted via Zoom – with Chiva-Som’s naturopaths, physiotherapists and exercise professionals.

The initial consultations last 50 minutes and include personalised feedback regarding lifestyle and nutrition, they will also inform advisors which live tutorial or treatment will be best-suited to the participant.

The advisors will then refer clients to either a private one-one-one naturopathic consultation, a natural fertility treatment session or an exercise tutorial.

Personal trainers will guide the fitness sessions and help people develop a customised workout based on personalised goals and preferences with basic to no equipment required.

Fitness meetings can be optimised to help encourage postural correction, include metabolic breathing exercises and alleviate work-related musculoskeletal disorders using neurodynamic stretching.

Chiva-Som is also offering private yoga and meditation sessions. To book a consultation or activity, guests must enquire at least 24 hours ahead via this link.

Past and regular guests have unlimited use of the one-on-one consultation, treatment and exercise sessions, while the general public can book one health and wellbeing consultation and a referral tutorial for free. The public can continue using these services but after their first consultation and tutorial, they will be charged.

The additional charge for a Natural Fertility or Naturopathic consultation is THB5250 (£131, US$162, €149) per session, and for one-on-one exercise and training it is THB3,500 (£88, US$108, €100) per session.

“Now is a time for support, collaboration and encouragement, ”said Krip Rojanastien, chair and CEO of Chiva-Som.

“We’re committed to our guests and community, in which we are striving to distribute our wellness resources to support people’s wellbeing without boundaries. We shall pass this together,” he said.

Chiva-Som is also sharing daily wellbeing advice and recommendations across the resort’s social media channels in the form of videos and blog posts, ranging from nutritious recipes and holistic wellbeing advice to virtual exercise programmes and self-training tutorials, designed to keep the body and mind active and healthy.

Features include tips on boosting the immune system and how to promote restful sleep, Pilates, yoga and meditation sessions and tutorials to teach self-massage at home.
