This project is a true synergy of our strengths within the Thalgo Group

French marine skincare brand, Thalgo, has opened a new Institute of Beauty destination in Cannes, France.

The new 84sq m urban day spa features four multi-purpose treatment rooms, each created with an individual feel and theme – designed by architecture firm BOISSON+PARTNERS Group in collaboration with Thalgo.

The two companies worked together to conceptualise and realise the spa’s design, as well as in production and project supervision. The new destination is inspired by the French Riviera and has been created with light tones, natural colours and plays of light, as well as including ‘nature-inspired materials’ – such as driftwood and reeds.

The destination is part of Thalgo’s recently launched Beauty Institute idea, an urban day spa concept originally debuted in Aix-en-Provence with a four-treatment room destination in November 2019.

According to the company, the Institutes provide Thalgo with ‘a laboratory of observation and study to anticipate how the day spa and beauty market will evolve’.

Maël Mourgues, Thalgo France’s trade marketing and network manager, told Spa Business: “This project is a true synergy of our strengths within the Thalgo Group as we are supplying all products, offered services and equipment ourselves.”

Beyond developing professional beauty treatments, the company has a diverse catalogue of beauty equipment, including balneotherapies, treatment beds and small equipment for treatment rooms, along with equipment for beauty treatments.

The Cannes site features treatment rooms designed to provide a welcoming sensory experience which invite clients to unwind, indulge in self-care and relax. Guests are also able to visit a marine-inspired relaxation space.

The treatment menu offers nine marine spa rituals, consisting of facials and body treatments – all of which can be tailored to clients’ individual needs and expectations. The destination also provides waxing and nail and make-up services.

Thalgo has also included a 30sq m Beauty Consultancy space. This facilitates an area for staff to guide clients and provide personalised advice, as well as providing an area dedicated to helping clients discover Thalgo products with hands-on experiences.

This consultancy space also features a retail boutique offering guests the opportunity to buy Thalgo’s signature skincare products and Organic Make-Up Couleur Caramel collection.

Mourgues claims the new opening: “allows Thalgo to showcase its new bright, natural and true brand communication, and gives us the opportunity to bring the group’s different brands’ complementary types of beauty expertise together under one roof.”
