Therapeutic fasting and medi-wellness clinic Buchinger Wilhelmi in Germany is helping its guests to live a healthier life via its new Immunity+ programme.

The immunity package aims to strengthen both body and mind, with the specific target of reducing the main risk factors for severe cases of COVID-19 and chronic disease – such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, liver disorders – and to support the immune system.

Immunity packages and treatments are becoming a major industry trend in the wake of the global pandemic, with industry names such as Lanserhof, Clinique La Prairie, Sangha Retreat and Anantara, rolling out immunity-focused programming.

Buchinger Wilhelmi’s Immunity+ Programme costs €110 (£99, US$135) per person and is an add-on to any of its fasting programmes – based on classical therapeutic fasting techniques developed by the clinic’s founder Dr Otto Buchinger, with added elements and methods from integrative medicine.

The clinic offers 10-day fasting programmes from €2,605 (£2,340, US$3,201) per person, including two consultations with a doctor, daily nurse check-ups, food and drink, fasting provisions and daily activities.

The immunity package comprises diagnostic testing, including physical assessments, blood tests, metabolic risk profiling and a COVID-19 test, plus individual risk analysis and curated fitness and nutrition support plans to strengthen the body, psyche and immune system.

To further minimise individual risk factors, the facility also offers the following additional services, prolonged blood pressure measurement; stress ECG; pulmonary function test; micronutrient IV therapy; individual hiking; and a programme to support people to stop smoking.

Situated on the picturesque Lake Constance in Überlingen, Germany, the wellness clinic has recently undergone a month of renovation and refurbishment, ready to greet guests this January looking for a new year health boost.

Updates included an enlargement of the clinic’s reception area and a redesign of its external façade.

All north and south bedrooms have also been completely refurbished and bathrooms and carpets, paint decoration and lighting will be renewed throughout the whole clinic.

In addition, modern air purification filter systems have been installed in all public spaces throughout, including the gymnastic hall, gym, salon, dining hall and assembly hall.
