As of January 2023, integrative health will be top of the menu at Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa in Koh Samui, Thailand, following the launch of its new integrative health facility, Longevity House.

The holistic wellness destination will expand its offering with IV vitamin infusions, ozone therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and high-sensitivity cancer screening. These will be available as an add-on to Kamalaya's 17 wellness programmes for an additional cost.

Since its inception, Kamalaya’s integral approach to wellness is grounded in bringing together the depth of eastern medical traditions with scientific research from the west.

Karina Stewart, Kamalaya founder and chief wellness officer, said: “Longevity House is where we’re housing our newest therapies, treatments and services that support, enhance and really augment what our programmes are famous for.

“They will amplify and increase the benefits of our programmes,” she explained, “even though our guests are staying longer following the pandemic (usually about 2-3 weeks), we really want to maximise their relatively short time with us and help them get the most benefits they can before going home.”

She revealed that there are already plans in place to expand the dedicated longevity facility and its offering in future.

More about the new therapies
Functional testing
Kamalaya has partnered with London-based vitality clinic Paar, to offer bespoke functional testing assessments prior to departure.

The tests can evaluate skin DNA, food intolerances, mineral balance, toxicity, microbiome and gut health. Assessments for sleep, nutritional and fitness traits are also offered while genetic testing for predisposition to diseases, and epigenetic and biological age testing are available along with personalised tests.

Guests will be able to upgrade their chosen Kamalaya programme with the testing for an additional cost. Each retreat has a bespoke set of tests which are posted out to guests prior to their stay at Kamalaya. Once completed, they then mail their samples back to Paar to help Kamalaya tailor their stay and programming.

IV vitamin infusion therapy
Kamalaya will provide a comprehensive menu of research-based results-oriented IV infusions to support acute health conditions and improve health, performance and longevity.

Tailored to address a range of specific health outcomes, the formulas are enriched with nutrients including amino acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Ozone therapy
Ozone therapy is said to carry a higher percentage of oxygen to areas in the body that require healing and support including chronic conditions and ageing. Kamalaya says this will help restore balance to combat infectious and degenerative diseases while supporting immunity.

The process involves blood being drawn and mixed with medical-grade oxygen (O3), which is then re-infused into the body to deliver a higher grade of oxygen into the guest’s bloodstream.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
Performed in a high-air-pressure hyperbaric chamber, this therapy is claimed to deliver more oxygen to the lungs and micro-capillaries to aid the body in fighting bacteria and stimulating stem cells along with other growth factors.

Kamalaya claims hyperbaric oxygen therapy can increase the rate of healing up to three times faster, promote anti-ageing and improve mental performance and wellbeing.

High sensitivity preventive cancer screening
Through a simple blood test and insights gained from the results, Kamalaya’s practitioners will recommend customised treatments and therapies or curate a personalised programme as per the guest’s health and wellbeing requirements in support of their wellbeing journey.
